POSTPONEMENT of GOPIO BUSINESS CONFERENCE
It
is with regret and due consideration to the September 11 terrorist attacks in
New
York and Washington, DC, that the Global Organization of People of
Indian
Origin (GOPIO) has decided to postpone the 3rd Global Business
Entrepreneurs
Conference from September 23 – 26, 2001 to the Spring of
2002.The
exact dates will be announced shortly.
The final
decision for the postponement has been reached after careful
consideration
of several important factors. These factors include GOPIO’s
expressed
sympathy and support for the people of New York (and the USA)
during
this horrible tragedy, and the continuing rescue and recovery
operations
which affects almost everything else here. There is also the
consideration
given to possible, cancellations, delays and restrictions on
international
travel, and the potential negative perception of holding a GOPIO
conference
in the midst of this calamity.
GOPIO
does appreciate understanding of all delegates at this difficult time,
and
extend its sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused as a result of
this
postponement.
